| Can distilled water have bacteria in it? |
| Yes, distilled water can have bacteria in it. While the distillation process removes most of the bacteria, distillation alone cannot guarantee that bacteria will be absent in the final water product. For example, unless the container and/or bottle are sterilized before being filled with water, microorganisms can be introduced during the filling process if appropriate care is not taken. Also, once the filled container is opened, the water is exposed to microorganisms. Home Page | FAQs | Glossary | Contact Us |
