| What processing methods does the CDC recommend for bottled water? |
| The Center for Disease Control recommends multi-barrier processing methods, like reverse osmosis, micron filtration, distillation and ozonization, for effective water treatment and to ensure the removal of chemical and microbiological contaminants, including Cryptosporidium. Bottled water that comes from municipal water supplies must be treated using one of the aforementioned methods in order to be endorsed by the International Bottled Water Association.
